Hey everyone, meet pinkhair-bluebox :)

Hello! My name is Taylor. I am 20, and have embraced my curls for as long as I can remember. My routine varies, depending on which products I have available. My favorite product that I have used was Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturizing Sea Spray. I would spray my hair after I got out of the shower with it, and it left it nice and soft, as well as controlled the frizz. I wash my hair at least every other day, then dry it with an old cotton t-shirt. I put in whichever product I am using, and then blow dry it using a diffuser attachment. :D

Hey everyone, meet beunderwhelmed :)
I shampoo about thrice a week, and I condition like a madman every day that I shower. I use Marc Anthony’s ‘Strictly Curls’. After my showers, I dry my hair with a towel and immediately slather on some Garnier Fructis curl sculpting cream-gel (extra strong), then I do my hair however I want to that day (clip back, hairband braid, etc.).  When my hair is in place, I work through some Paul Mitchell liquid curl definer, basically my hair’s crack cocaine (my mom found it in the States and I can’t find it in Canada, so I’ll be going through withdrawal soon). It usually dries pretty nicely, and on rare occasions even looks okay after sleeping on it.

Hey everyone, meet heyitselise :)

Hi!

I’m Elise.

This is my hair at the length that I wish it could always be…I’m the product of two curly haired parents, and somehow my sister ended up with wavy hair; I ended up with this! Oh, genetics.

My routine:

I wash and condition my hair every morning, but I use very little shampoo and I leave the conditioner on the entire time that I’m in the shower. When I get out, I towel-dry my hair, comb it out with a wide tooth comb, and then take the towel and scrunch. After that, I flip my head over and put mousse in it to make sure it doesn’t frizz! After that, I just let it air dry, because my hair is INSANELY thin and cannot handle a blow dryer, even with a diffuser.

Since my hair is so thin, it only really wants to part down the middle- which drives me crazy, as it looks very cute with a zig-zag part. However, I just can’t get it to stay in anything but the middle. Oh well!

Hey everyone, meet princess—of—darkness :)

When I wear my hair down: I wash my hair at night, brush it, style it with mousse, sleep with it in a sloppy bun, and then whip it in the morning and get this outcome. (Can last 2 or 3 days)

When I wear it in a ponytail, I brush it thoroughly, pull it back and tie it up. I use gel for the front and mousse for the back.

The sloppy bun is just day 2 or 3 of the aftermath of wearing it down.

I love my curls, and have since I was 12. I embrace them, and love every second of having them!

Thank you,  and stay gorgeous! <3

Hey everyone, meet ihavamoustachee :)

Routine:

I wash daily in the shower, finger-brush only (while still wet; yes, my shower walls are also always covered with hair), condition (with Suave), and cold-water rinse. I sometimes apply mousse afterward, and do some minor adjustments by hand. I’ve yet to find a good, not-crunchy mousse, though.

Side note:

I recently cut off all of my hair and donated it, a routine I’ve started following every three to four years. It’s still super curly even when it’s short, though.

Another side note:

For marching band last year, we performed a disco show, in costume. Many kids went out and bought afro wigs; I just waited until my hair was dry and then thoroughly brushed it out.

Hey everyone, meet uhhitsmoriah :)

Heyy! :)

I’m Moriah, and I love my hair!

I used to hate my curls, because I had no idea how to manage the frizz, but now that I do, it’s fantastic!

Routine, after showering (with shampoo & conditioner):

1. I get out, and put my hair up in a towel.

2. I leave it there for about 5-10 minutes.

3. I usually end up getting dressed, so I take it out of the towel, and put it up in a clip.

4. After getting dressed, while the hair isn’t wet, but damp, I spray with Garnier Fructis curl shaping spray gel flexible hold (spray where it’s getting frizzy, or going to be the frizziest, like your ends, or scalp area because the mousse won’t be applied there).

4. I then apply a tablespoon or two of Garnier Fructis Mousse Strong Hold on the lengths to ends of my hair while you’re bent over & your hair is flipped over (I apply by scrunching).

5. I flip my hair over, and it should part naturally. :)

When I use this routine, by the time that it dries completely, it doesn’t even look like I have product in!

Just be sure your hair isn’t dry when putting in product, and use as little product as possible! :)

Hey everyone, meet sidniie :)

I find that my hair is the mother of all curly hair.. it’s as big as life! But I’m sure that everyone says that, right? Haha, my daily routine on a school day begins by getting up at 6:30 am to get in the shower. I start off getting it soaked, (I’ve read on this site that you shouldn’t use shampoo on curly hair so I’ve started using conditioner to wash). Then I put conditioner in it, and let it sit there for about 5 minutes. Then, I rinse it out a little bit, and brush it in the shower. After that, I rinse it out with cold water (got that from here too!), and put it up in a towel until I’m ready to deal with it. I brush it out again, and put oil in it, then I put mousse, and then I put in gel last… then I put it up in a bun, lol. Ever since I learned how to do a pony tail, that was how I did my hair! I never liked my hair.. I love how it’s curly (sometimes), my problem was I have so much of it. Hairdressers tell me “You have enough hair for 10 people!” I laugh at that. As I’m getting older I’m learning to cope with my hair, I’m starting to like it a bit more. I have fun with my hair too, being a lion on halloween, I already have the “mane” so why not, eh! I hope to find more advice from thecurlyhairproblems, it feels like I’m a part of a new family, finally finding people that understand!

Hey everyone, meet afterthefight :)

Hi, my name is Julia. (:

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with my hair.  Everyone always tells me that I look like Taylor Swift because I sing, and my hair is blonde and curly.

I usually shower every night with shampoo and conditioner.  Then, in the morning, I wet my hair and put in a bit of Garnier Fructis curl sculpting cream gel.  I used to let it air-dry, but the water in my hair weighed it down and pulled the curls out, so now I diffuse it.  Plus, it’s nice to not freeze in the winter.  And that’s it!

Hey everyone, meet supermadd :)

I don’t really have much to say about myself, and if you want to know my routine, there’s not much of one. I get up in the morning, shake my head around, and head out the door. When I wash my hair, I don’t use anything fancy. Shampoo, condition, comb it with my fingers and rinse. After a shower, the curls get really tight, and begin to get more and frizzier as time goes on until the next thorough washing.

In the first two pics, my hair probably hasn’t been washed in two days, in the last pic I probably washed it that morning.

Hey everyone, meet sandrasabotage :)

Hi, my name is Alesandra. :)

I used to despise my curls with a burning passion, but we’ve come to terms.

I shower at night, and I have to wet my hair to comb it every morning.  All I put into it is leave-in conditioner, and then I braid it, because by the time I un-braid it, it’s not dripping wet anymore, and for some reason having it in a braid for an hour or so keeps it from getting horrendously frizzy.

I tend to straighten my hair about once every semester, and it takes 3 hours. :l
